Rose Hall, Sightseeing & Beach Excursion

This shore excursion is a great way to spend your day in Jamaica and is sure to excite everyone who loves history and mystery. There are 3 stops on this excursion from Falmouth, starting with a visit to the famous Rose Hall Great House followed by some sightseeing, a stop at Richmond Great House and a beach break at Dr. Cave Beach.

The legend that surrounds Rose Hall Great House and its infamous owner, Annie Palmer, is one that has fascinated generations of locals and visitors alike since its construction in 1770.This stunning mid-18th century house was the home to Annie Palmer who was known as the White Witch. Annie was called the “White Witch” because she bedazzled then did away with the three husbands and countless slave lovers. The White Witch of Rose Hall has fascinated generations, and even today, there are those who claim to see Annie passing through the Great House.

You will be taken back in time to the reign of the White Witch and can explore the very rooms that Annie Palmer once lived in. As the floors creak beneath your feet, the former plantation comes alive with the story of Annie, who famously killed her 3 husbands and countless lovers and was herself ultimately murdered in the home. Annie is said to continue to haunt the great Rose Hall Great House to this day. So be careful! Watch out for ghosts that will surely appear & maybe Annie herself!

Leaving the mystery of Rose Hall behind, you will continue your adventure up to the beautiful and scenic Richmond Hill Great House. This House is richly steeped in history. In the 1700's it was the property of the Dewars, members of the proud Scott's clan from which the famous whisky takes its name. Everything has been done to retain the gracious unhurried atmosphere of a bygone age. The house is filled with lots of antiques including a pot with the royal seal of 'Isabel and Ferdinand' of Spain is found in our patio garden which was brought to Jamaica by a Spanish Galleon during the reign of Queen Isabel and King Ferdinand. The old plantation house also has the best view of Montego Bay, overlooking the mountains, towns and beautiful Caribbean Sea.

From here you will journey to Dr Cave Beach where you can spend some time relaxing on the beautiful white sands, cool off in the Caribbean sea or enjoy some lunch. A perfect way to end a perfect day on your shore excursion in Jamaica.
