Yes, generally this is not an issue. Persons with claustrophobia, who have gone on the submarine, report being surprised that you tend to focus out through the viewport into the wide-open ocean space rather than inside the submarine of itself.
Unlike on an aircraft where the windows are high and you cannot see anything interesting outside for most of the trip, in the submarine, you sit facing the window and there are viewports all around and a large view port in front of the pilot that all can see out. Most of all you are not stuck in the submarine for the full tour if you really feel the need to disembark.
It is best to notify your co-Pilot of your condition and sit close to him or her. In the event that you are very uncomfortable, we will be able to quietly get the Pilot to surface as well as request for the return of the passenger vessel.
The submarine is a large vessel that can accommodate up to 48 passengers comfortably. You can stand, sit, and walk into and out of the submarine very easily.

This reef line is located on the inside of the barrier reef off the North Sound and is 10 to 12 feet deep. She is known not so much for her reef structure as she is for her fish and invertebrate population. The coral itself is host to a multitude of small creatures clinging to her. Above the reef are masses of fish such as grunts, yellow tails and sergeant majors along with many other visitors. If the waters are calm and you feel comfortable in the water, it is definitely worth a try. However, you can really only decide this on the day of, with the advice of your boat captain and crew. The best advice we can give is to try out snorkeling in the shallow waters at Stingray City Sandbar. This way you can stand in the water and see how you feel with the mask and snorkel on. Place your face just below the surface of the water and practice breathing through your snorkel. If the weather is slightly windy on the day and you do not feel comfortable in the water, it is best to just stay on the boat. Safety is always the #1 priority.
